"Mamotte Shugo-Getten" is a love-comedy based on popular manga by Sakurano Minene. A young boy who lives alone because all the other members of family are travelling all over the world, receives a curio from his father in China. To his surprise a very pretty girl appears from it. She is a spirit of the moon and declares her mission is to protect him from all misfortunes. His lonely life becomes a cheerful one but soon a chaotic one as another troublesome spirit of Sun arrives to the house hold (in manga, there is a third spirit of the earth, Kiryuu).
You may think this sounds like "Ah! My Goddess". Certainly it started as its clone but, unlike A!MG in which Belldandy became rather divine after arrival of Urd and Skuld, Shao remains fairly human (showing a lot of emotions).
Unfortunately the anime version failed to transfer the mood of the manga to the TV screen and ended only in 22 episodes.
